Tatsiana (Tanya) was born and raised in Grodno, Belarus and attended the university in Mogilev. She was working towards a professional dance career during her nights with a private dance group specializing in modern dance. They performed many times all over Mogilev and in the capital, Minsk, in front of large crowds of people. Dance was the passion that she breathed and lived every day.
She came to the United States in 2004 to work for the summer on a student exchange program following the completion of her fourth year (of 5 years) of university. She got married while here in the US and then looked to start her life anew by first working as a waitress.
While working long hours as a waitress, back problems started to nag her. In retrospect she saw that her aggressive dance training was part of the reason for this and she sought to find another physical and inspiring practice that was both healthy and fulfilling. In looking for alternatives she came upon Yoga and decided to give it a try. From the very first class she fell in love with Yoga and its practice. Three months later she started her 200 hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training program.
She obtained her Kripalu Yoga Instructor Certification (200 hour) in 2007 from Rasika (Martha Link) prior to finishing her degree in Economics Management. In 2008 she became a Certified Kripalu Yoga Dance Instructor via Megha Nancy Buttenheim, which harnesses her love of dance and Yoga. Then she obtained her certification as a Laughter Yoga Leader via Laura Gentry of the Iowa School of Laughter Yoga in March of 2011. In 2021 she became a Certified Breathwork Teacher Level I an II from The Breathwork by Jon Paul Crimi.
From September 2006 Tanya has been teaching all levels of Yoga classes in the Baraboo Area from restorative to advanced level classes, in addition to being available for private classes. Tatsiana, with the goal of changing the world one student at a time, pours her heart and soul into her teaching.
