Laura is a native to Wisconsin; she grew up in Madison enjoying athletics, such as soccer. After graduating high school she moved to Milwaukee where she started her own family. As her family grew she faced new challenges of becoming a mom of two and wanted to move to a community where she could be closer to family, Baraboo has been a great fit.
Playing indoor soccer, in Milwaukee, Laura tore her meniscus. She wanted to stay active while minimizing impacts to her healing meniscus, yoga was that and more. After just a few yoga practices Laura had found herself feeling empowered through yoga physically and mentally. When she moved to Baraboo, she began to search for a place to continue her desire for yoga practice. She happened upon the It’s All About You Yoga family and was immediately at home. The passion for the tranquility that yoga brings to her life, set her on a path to becoming a certified yoga instructor.
In May of 2010 Laura completed her 200 hour yoga teacher certification. Laura’s training has been extensive in the body systems and structure. She has learned various modifications to all postures to make the practice of yoga accessible to everyone. FYB is a branch of Hatha yoga; it combines three different styles Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Viniyoga.
A personal Yoga practice has been a part of Laura’s life for over three years. Her personal practice has brought change and growth into her life. As a stay at home mom of two, having yoga in her life has helped to give her a sense of self outside of being a mom and wife. She has learned greater patience and to bring calm into situations that feel like chaos.Yoga has allowed Laura to create a better relationship with herself that in turn has transformed the other relationships in her life. Laura hopes to encourage self care, self discovery, and self exploration to others looking to begin or continue a yoga practice. Her desire is to create a non-intimidating and nurturing environment to find your Self through your yoga journey. She believes that yoga is not just what you do on the mat, but how you live off the mat as well. Laura is excited and would love the opportunity to help you find your SELF in beginning a yoga practice that is right for you.
